All You Need To Know About Todoist's New Pricing
When will Todoist pricing change?
December 1st 2018 will be the pricing update day.
The price for Todoist will increase from $29 to $36 USD per year. You have until November 30th to take advantage of the yearly $29 per year pricing. This should appear below when looking to upgrade.
What if I’m already a Todoist Premium user?
For all existing Premium users, your pricing will remain the same.
Meaning the price will not increase for Todoist Premium legacy users. You will stick with $29/year as long as you remain a Todoist customer. They note in the official help page:
Customers who upgraded to Todoist Premium prior to December 1st, 2018 will have access to Todoist Premium legacy pricing forever(US$29/year). Customers will only lose access to the legacy pricing if they cancel their Premium subscription.
As of December 1, 2018, we’ll introduce a monthly subscription option for users subscribing through Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Store. The monthly subscription price for Todoist Premium will be $4/month. Please see in-App Purchases.

Why is the pricing being increased?
Todoist hasn’t updated pricing since 2007. Mad!
As discussed a few months ago on Keep Productive, my belief is that Todoist is worth $39 per year. The application has evolved, continues to add stability and features and is expecting an upgrade soon to the design. Todoist are thinking ahead here, they are thinking of the next 3-4 years and the investment they need from customers to continue their path.
Yes, I technically fall under the “legacy” user and now pay $29 per month, but I’d be more than happy to pay an addition $7 per year. This isn’t a mad price upgrade. We aren’t see 50% or 75% increase of the price, we’re only seeing the equivalent of 2.25 months of pricing.
